Japanese Car Auction Find: 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Cabriolet

It is hard to know what to do with a car like this: It’s V8 engine begs you to drive it hard, preferably down a switchback road above Monaco (although this one probably spent more time at traffic lights in Shibuya, Tokyo), but on the other hand it is an amazing piece of automotive artwork that you just want  to walk around and savor. The rear is particularly well done, which is a good thing from the non-owner’s perspective as this is what most people will end up looking at as it cruises past with absolute ease.

This particular white Vantage Cabriolet is a 2008 model that is coming up for auction in Japan next week (January 11th). With an overall grading of 5, this particular one is a RHD model in absolutely immaculate shape with just under 7,000 KM on the clock. The fact that it is RHD is quite unusual even though Japan is an RHD country and Aston Martins are from the UK, which is another RHD country. The thing is a lot of higher-end non-Japanese cars in Japan are actually LHD for the “snob value”.
