Japanese Car Auction Find – Lexus LS 600H F Sport
Even though you’ll probably never find one of the limited edition Lexus LFAs we talked about earlier this week up for auction in Japan (or anywhere), you can easily find Lexus’ ultra-lux flagship sedan for sale. So, today we decided to go all out with the highest displacement model we could find – a Lexus LS 600H F Sport in a striking dark gray metallic:
A quick glance at the grille tells you that this is one of Lexus’ newer models. As a 2012MY, this would’ve been the first Lexus LS model to feature their now-trademark pinched spindle grille. The car saw several other exterior and interior updates for this model year, but let’s start with the base stats first…
Under the hood of any LS 600H you’ll find an all-wheel drivetrain powered by a 5.0L hybrid V8 engine. This is actually the only car in Lexus’ entire lineup that uses the 2UR-FSE high-performance engine, as it was custom developed for the full-size sedans sport hybrid system.
The engine itself outputs a jaw-clenching 394 hp at 6,400 rpm and 383 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Lexus Hybrid Drive system adds an extra 45 hp for a total system output of 439 hp. The whole engine block is die-cast to save weight and uses dual VVT-I to optimize high-speed performance.
From the mechanical stats alone, it should come as no surprise that the Lexus LS has remained as one of the most fun-filled, reliable vehicles ever manufactured by any automaker – and why it’s continued to win awards since its original launch in 1989. But, just in case you’re not convinced, here are just a few of the incredible unheard of features you’ll enjoy inside this 2012 Lexus LS 600h:
- Nano-particle moisturizing via the automatic AC reduces dry eyes while driving for prolonged periods of time
- Sport Direct Shift transmission with optional paddle-shifting manual mode
- All-digital central instrument panel with DVD entertainment
- Massive touch-screen navigation
- Black leather seating and upholstery with white stitching
- Automatic climate control
You can see that the exterior is just as upscale, complete with LEDs, a totally reshaped front fender and rear bumper, and dark chrome alloys. This particular auction find is in especially good shape with only 29,000 kilometers on the odometer, an interior grade of B and an overall rating of 4.5.
