New Infiniti Q80 Inspiration Concept Coming to Paris
Infiniti is bringing a large new four-door fastback concept to this week’s Paris Motor Show. This sleek and saucy concept, dubbed the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration, is apparently the luxury brand’s “vision of category-breaking, supreme luxurious driving.” As you can see below, Infiniti wasn’t lying – this concept definitely breaks conventional categories.
We can tell you up front that there’s a lot more going on in this Q80 Inspiration Concept than first meets the eye. Still, we have to talk about a design like that, so let’s get that out of the way first.
The Q 80 concept is reportedly 189.9 inches long and 79.8 inches wide, so it’ll be a fairly large vehicle. Infiniti tells us that it’s a four-seat, four-door fastback that showcases the upper range of their portfolio expansion.
That explains the chrome accents along the concept’s body, along with the unique twin-spoke alloys the Q80 rides on. You’ll notice that Infiniti left out the side-mirrors to maintain a sleek, uninterrupted linear profile. Best of all, that lightweight acoustic glass windshield runs all the way along the top of the car’s teardrop-shaped cabin in order to create a truly lux exterior.
Inside, the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration continues to distinguish itself from the norm. Passengers will be seated in a “1+1+1+1” configuration, which probably means that the seats are arranged in a single-file line. Infiniti also tells us that, “the cabin is able to bring together the four occupants in a highly stylized and personalized ambulance of the highest quality.” They’ll use carbon fiber, aluminum and leather to create an interior that’s contemporary and clean.
Finally, Infiniti tells us to expect a level of mechanical prowess appropriate for a range-topping halo car. This premium fastback will be built on an advanced adaptive suspension with a light and rigid chassis. Hints of even cooler technology are aplenty, so we’ll know more when the car debuts. However, we do know that the acoustic glass we mentioned earlier will play a pivotal role in a quiet and comfortable driving experience.
With all that being said, chances are we won’t see a car exactly like the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration Concept anytime soon. The name should probably be taken quite literally; this is a possible inspiration for a future Q80, NOT necessarily a direct pre-production prototype. Either way, we’re sure to see a bundle of new features and technologies in the new concept, so stay tuned later this week for the Inspirational debut.
