Toyota Tops J.D. Power Survey in Three Key Domestic Market Segments
J.D. Power’s latest quality survey of Japanese domestic models announced August 31st gives Toyota products the top place in three out of four key segments:
Kei cars
- Suzuki Alto
- Honda Life
- Suzuki Lapin
Compact
- Toyota Vitz
- Toyota Ractis
- Toyota Passo
Mid-size
- Toyota Axio / Fielder
- Nissan Tiida
Minivan
- Toyota Estima
- Honda Freed & Nissan Serena (joint second)
Of these models, the Toyota Vitz came in with the lowest score of 73. The quality survey ranks vehicles not just on the quality of their build, but also on the user experience. So an item being broken or non-operational in a car will add points, but similarly if the user cannot figure out how to operate an item of equipment for example, points will also be added.
