How to Make Payments

Wondering how easy it is going to be to pay for these cars that you are buying from Japan? Here are two simple options that make it easy for you.

PayPal

PayPal is often the best solution for amounts up to around 150,000 JPY. The costs will usually work out being comparable with a bank transfer, or less for lower amounts. It even works if you don't have a PayPal account. You can make payment directly from you credit or debit card.

The transaction goes through instantly, which is great if you are wanting to get started bidding and need to get us your deposit right away.

So, if you are wanting to send a deposit of 100,000 JPY, or you need to pay for shipping for a car, you will often find that PayPal is the best option.

You won't find our PayPal account information here, though. Please contact us first. We will then send you an invoice directly from our company PayPal account for the required amount.

International Bank Transfers - JPY, USD or EUR

Electronic bank transfers are always better for larger sums. Our main bank is SMBC, one of the largest banks in the world. SMBC accepts transfers in JPY (Yen), USD (Dollars) and EUR (Euros).

We have negotiated a very favorable exchange rate which is 0.8 JPY better than the standard SMBC rate for USD to JPY transactions, and 1.1 JPY per EUR for EUR to JPY transactions.

For example, if the standard rate was 121.32 JPY per USD, then the rate which our customers would receive would be 122.12 JPY per USD. For a 10,000 USD transfer, that would be an extra 8,000 JPY in your account as compared with the standard rate.

Despite these favorable rates, we strongly recommend customers send Japanese Yen directly if at all possible. The reason for this is that when you send Yen, you know exactly how much isd going. On the other hand, if you send Dollars or Euro, you never know exactly what the exchange rate will be when your payment arrives, as it may well have changed since the day you sent it. (Of course, always bear in mind that, unless your bank has covered the sending, intermediary and recipient bank fees, there may still be fees removed before we finally receive the payment into our account.)

To see what the current exchange rate is and perform quick and easy conversions, see our explanation about using Google's currency conversion feature here.

Time from Payment to Receipt

Unlike PayPal, international bank transfers are not instant. The fastest take around 24 hours. You should budget 3 to 5 days for a typical transfer, and not worry until at least 10 days have passed.

If you have a payment that is due in our account Friday Japan time, you should make sure you go to the bank to initiate the transfer on Monday so that it has enough time to get here.

Bank Charges and Fees

Unless your bank specifically covers all the recipient and intermediary charges at your end, it is possible that your transfer may end up short when it actually lands in our account.

Unfortunately, it seems that many banks are not really upfront about this and will tell you that everything is covered -- only for you to have a surprise when the money finally arrives.

We always provide you with a PDF copy of the receipt from our bank, so you can always take this to your bank if anything needs sorting out. PayPal is useful if you need to “top up” a small amount when you are slightly short.

Most of our customers find they have their banks “trained up” after one or two transfers.

Bank Account Details

These are available on request. Please send us an email at website@integrityexports.com to receive them. We do not post them on our website as we don't want to receive money from anyone before we have established a proper, contractual relationship.
