Suzuki has taken the wraps off the Authentics concept today on the dawn of the 2013 Auto Shanghai, following last month's teaser.

The concept serves as a foundation for a C-segment model which Suzuki plans on launching in China. Authentics comes with a long wheelbase and a lowered height to form a "stable authentic sedan style". The sharp-looking concept features several sporty character lines and curved surfaces. This design could influence next-gen Kizashi’s appearance.

The production model is scheduled to arrive by the end of 2014 and will be produced by the firm's China joint venture Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co., LTD. Most likely some of the engines will be borrowed from the new SX4 which was showcased last month in Geneva. Speaking of which, the China-spec SX4 S-CROSS will be made by the same joint venture starting late 2013.
