Nissan has announced development of the GT-R Nismo is on track and the car will reach dealerships next year.

Back in June a Nissan representative said the GT-R Nismo is scheduled for a 2014 release. Now, the Japanese marque has revealed the car's development is going as planned so there will be no delay in its launch. No technical specifications have been disclosed so far, but a recent report indicates output of the 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine will be bumped to more than 570 bhp (425 kW).

Work on the car is conducted in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering and is expected to go on a significant diet thanks to more extensive use of carbon fiber. In addition, the engineers will also fiddle with the supercar's aerodynamics, and all these changes combined could allow the GT-R Nismo to complete the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) task in a mind-blowing 2.0 seconds. In addition, it should be able to lap the Nürburgring in less than 7 minutes and 18 seconds.

In related news, Nissan says they sold 3,700 units of the Juke Nismo in Europe, United States and Japan between January and the end of July.
